We have been house sitting for nearly four years. This has become a great way for us to manage our annual budget while allowing us to visit amazing places that we might not otherwise afford. We truly enjoy the wonderful people we've met through this experience, as well as the adorable pets we care for.
Hey there! We're Brian and Carrie, a couple in our fifties from the USA. Do you remember those days when work felt like a never-ending cycle, and you could only dream of taking a vacation once a year? Sadly, the happiness from that vacation would fade quickly when you realized that you had to wait another year to enjoy it again. Does that sound familiar?
Facing a retirement timeline that felt light-years away, we decided waiting wasn't our style. We started with doing research, then planning marathons, and had a revelation: early retirement on a budget is doable! Surprising, right?
And so, the adventure began! We sold everything we owned, packed our carry-ons, and took a one-way flight to Spain. It was incredibly exciting, but, to be honest, we had no clue what we were in for. It's been two-plus years since we hit the road, and our full-time travels have turned into this incredible life. We won't sugarcoat it—the journey has its highs and lows, but it's worth it!
